Background

NuServe is a family-run commercial cleaning company that operates throughout the UK, providing customers with quality, ethical and sustainable cleaning services and support services. They’re also a certified B-Corp who put a huge emphasis on their people and the environment.

The challenge

To redefine their online presence, producing a website that truly reflected who they are in 2022. The site needed to communicate the wide range of services they offer but also demonstrate their personality and values that differentiate them from their competitors.

The solution

We worked with NuServe to produce a responsive WordPress website. Throughout the project we refreshed their digital visual identity and made it easier for their in-house team to update content.

Discovery phase

Working collaboratively with the NuServe team, we set up an InVision Freehand online whiteboard to share ideas and feedback. This allowed us to explore options and make quick decisions whilst being physically remote.

We worked in two parallel streams to create the right approach for the new site:

  1. An exploration of possible visual directions through potential home page aesthetics
  2. An in depth review of the site content and structure

Within the discovery phase we explored and created:

  • User Personas and User Stories
  • Sitemap & Information architecture (IA)
  • Wireframes
  • Content types and restrictions
  • Visual identity direction
  • Evolving the Visual Identity

In order to better reflect the amazing culture and expertise of NuServe we helped them evolve how they visually present through the site.

We worked on a range of colour palettes derived from their brand colours, that could be used to add more interest throughout the site. We also worked on typography and spacing scales as well as some unique decorative assets to help brand their photography throughout the site.

WordPress Page Builder

NuServe needed a powerful, flexible, and easy to use CMS that would enable them to update the sites content without needing to understand web development. To do this, we built the site in WordPress, using a comprehensive page builder. The page builder provides the team with a library of reusable components and customisable options. This gives non-technical content editors the flexibility to add and change pages using any combination of components, whilst maintaining brand consistency across the site. Pages can be built to suit their content and then easily changed as the content grows and evolves.

Responsive design

The NuServe website is designed to work across all modern devices and browsers. As well as being a pleasure to use on a mobile device, we worked hard to optimise the site to load quickly over slower mobile networks. This both increases the customer experience and is also known to increase conversions. Page speed and mobile responsiveness are now both important factors in SEO page rankings.
