Scalable publishing for a global learning community

Helping Biblical Literacy organise a 1,500 lesson library, automate podcast syndication, and give volunteers back valuable time.

Scalable publishing for a global learning community

The Result

Rareloop built a modern, scalable learning platform that transforms a complex 1,500 lesson archive into an easily searchable resource, while entirely automating podcast syndication for Biblical Literacy’s volunteer team.

The challenge

Biblical Literacy, delivered by Mark Lanier, provides free, in-depth Bible teaching. Over time, their archive grew to more than 1,500 lessons across YouTube, podcasts, slides, transcripts, and handouts.

The original, custom built website couldn’t keep pace. It lacked clear information architecture, had limited search capabilities, and became a digital warehouse for files rather than an engaging learning environment.

The hosting environment was running out of storage capacity, and the small team of volunteers spent significant time manually uploading and coordinating content across different channels.

Our Approach

To solve these challenges, we focused on three key areas: the user experience, content migration and administrative automation.

A new, engaging lesson experience

At the centre of the platform is the redesigned lesson page, which now acts as the single source of truth for each piece of content.

  • Integrated learning: Visitors can watch the lesson directly on the page via embedded YouTube video, while also accessing related materials such as slides, handouts and transcripts.
  • Frictionless discovery: We introduced lesson-specific search, clear tagging, and ‘next lesson’ pathways to keep users engaged and encourage continuous learning.

Seamless automation and hosting for growth

We rebuilt the technical infrastructure to eliminate manual administrative overhead and handle future expansion.

  • Automated syndication: We built automated RSS distribution into the site. When a volunteer uploads a lesson, it automatically syndicates titles, descriptions, and files to Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other channels.
  • Infrastructure for scale: To eliminate previous performance and storage limits, we migrated the platform to high-performing Kinsta hosting.

Empowering the volunteer team

Because the site is maintained entirely by volunteers, the content management system had to be intuitive and error-proof.

  • WordPress provided the ideal foundation, combining flexibility for custom development with a familiar and accessible editing experience. We worked closely with the team during the design process to ensure the content management interface aligned with their existing workflows.
  • Guided workflows: Lesson pages were structured to act as a step-by-step guide for administrators, prompting them to add videos, transcripts and resources consistently.

Looking to automate your workflows?

If your team is wasting hours manually duplicating content across different channels, we can help build a single source of truth.

Biblical Literacy is an in-person and online repository for the teaching of Christian scripture of one of the United States most respected trail lawyers, Mark Lanier. As such, the archived lessons from 20+ years of teaching is an invaluable global resource. Rareloop understood the mission and purpose of this archive and achieved what has not been properly implemented previously. Between the volunteer staff who maintain the website to the thousands of people who make use of the varied components, we are grateful for Rareloop’s careful attention and creative efforts to make the website as user friendly as possible. Not only is the Rareloop staff wonderful to work with, but they fully embraced our project, recognising our mission and gave us a structure that will continue to serve our communities well.

The Result

Biblical Literacy now has a platform designed around the needs of its audience and the scale of its content.

Lessons are easy to find, simple to access and structured in a way that encourages deeper engagement with the material.

Behind the scenes, the volunteer team has a much more manageable system for maintaining the archive and publishing new lessons, while automated distribution through RSS ensures content reaches audiences across multiple platforms.

The project also marks the third collaboration between Rareloop and Mark Lanier, reflecting a trusted partnership and shared commitment to making Biblical Literacy accessible to people around the world.
